This week I learned a lot of new information that will further guide my research. In the Scicomm article I read, I developed a new understanding of dogs' relationships with humans, and how they perceive us. It was fascinating to learn that dogs feel the most comfortable with their caregiver. I was also fascinated to read my classmate's posts. The most interesting article I read was the one @tiffanynguyenUC posted about penguins and their feather regrowth. I never knew that their feathers regrow every year! The process of molting fascinated me and reminded me of how a snake can regrow its skin, shedding the old one. I also thought this was important to note, as it helps further the argument that animals are incredibly adaptive and can transform in different environments.
This week I followed new pages that I believe will be beneficial to my research process. @BrennaJCassidy and @foxguardiansuk are two pages I found to be very educational. I truly enjoyed how passionate both researchers are about their work and I loved reading their tweets on their findings. I know that these sorts of pages will guide my research, and provide me with sufficient information on canines.

Lastly, I responded to three classmates' blog posts. I really appreciated Derek Liu's
blog about the film "Nova Bird Brains" we watched. I found his description of the film to be very similar to my take on the documentary. We had a lot of the same points and thought of the same ideas. His blog post also made me think of points I may have missed when watching the film. I also responded to Giselle Gin's week 2 blog about dogs ability to sniff COVID-19. This blog was truly fascinating to me as this was new information to me. I loved her enthusiasm about this topic and I can't wait to further my research about canines. Overall, this week I was presented with tons of new information and I can't wait to learn more.
I find it really intriguing how similar dogs and humans can be in the sense that I too feel most comfortable with my close family and friends. I think your research is really fascinating, I wish you the best of luck!
