Looking back and reflecting on all the learning experiences I obtained during the 10 weeks of this course, I am reminded of all the hard work and effort I put into this class. I think of all the research and readings I've done to obtain enough information to write my Sci-comm article. That is one assignment that I feel truly helped me gain the most wisdom and become a better writer. Studying the overall impact that dogs have and getting to familiarize myself with all the beneficial aspects was such a cool experience. I think it's obvious to say that yes although I am taking this class to pass and receive units, I truly enjoyed learning and researching in this course. I now think so differently about the vital needs of an animal. I feel the same positive impacts from the Advocacy Project. Having to really dive deeper into the problem and not just look at it from a surface-level view, gave me an ulterior perspective on ways I can help advocate for the issue. I also now have no excuse as I am educated and aware of the harmful impacts these issues pose on animals. I will look back at these assignments and be grateful for the opportunity to educate myself and take a class with beneficial assignments rather than just 'busy' work. Although this course did have a pretty big course load I truly feel like every assignment had an intention and purpose. The time management aspect was the only thing I struggled with. Besides this class, I am also taking four other classes here at UCSB. Finding time and remembering the complete my assignment, became a little bit of a struggle at the end of the quarter. But I ended strong and managed to complete everything on time. In the future, I will definitely keep more time management skills and work on dividing my time up more equally. Overall, this class has allowed me to expand and gain so much knowledge. I can confidently say this course improved me not only as a student but as a person too.
