Week One Blog

Hello everyone:) This weeks reading's presented with a plethora of information and I was enlightened with lots of intriguing material. I found the most interesting piece of information was the overall intellegence that animals posses. I always knew that animals had a mind of their own, but I didn't realize just how similar they are to humans. From basic cognitive functions to they way they develop friendships and communities, animals contain similar responses to us humans. I thought it was very interesting to learn that the deveopment of animal frienships leads to longer life and more sustainable living habits.

This courses three main assignments are the scicomm article, the advocacy project, and the final portfolio. Regarding late work, you are allowed to turn in work up to two weeks late but you will be deduced points. We have a grading contract because it will help you navigate through the assignments of this class while also keeping you on track. To keep track of your grade during this course, you can count the scores on your gradebook and tabulate them according to the guidline posted in this contract.
